Had a great meal with the family and luckily the portion were large so I got to take home everyone's leftovers. Salmon, mashed potatoes, mushrooms with cabbage, was mine. Family has teriyaki chocked mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. It was all really good. Pitcher of sangria was delicious as well.
What a cute, lowkey, but welcoming spot! Came here for a group dinner and we were all satisfied with our selection of pizzas and burgers. I wouldn't say anything stood out to me as outstanding, but I left feeling satisfied with the quality of the meal. There is a great mix of seating options and we saw many people picking up to-go. I'd recommend to those in the area!
Sellands is always a good choice. From their amazing all American Burgers to some solid salads. I've eaten at all three locations in Sacramento and my favorite on is the location on broadway!
It's never a bad time to stop into Selland's. We popped in at lunch time while running errands and were so satisfied! I got the tuna melt and my husband got the burger. We topped it off with a Nitty's Cider they had on tap. Everything was perfect. While it was busy, the patio had plenty of seating and the misters were going. It was hot out, but misters made it very pleasant! My heart will always reside with this location. You can't go wrong with anything here!
So good! Feel like I rediscovered Selland's when I ordered the Power Caesar to go one day. Since then, I've been often craving this salad. I've come twice pretty recently. The first time, recently, I got the Power Caesar salad and it was refreshing and delicious. I love that they finely shave the parmesan, and love that they have fried shallot and puffed quinoa. It adds so much texture and interest to the salad. The avocado gives a nice creaminess, along with the dressing. Mixed greens is also tastier than your typical iceberg lettuce. I also enjoy that the caesar dressing tastes very fresh. The cherry tomatoes add a nice color and flavor, as well. They provide generous servings of their salads. The asparagus lemon pizza (don't remember the exact name) was ok. The crust is thin and crunchy, but wished it had a little bit of flavor to it. Wished that it had a bit more asparagus on it as well. At the next visit, we ordered a Green Goddess salad along with the grilled cheese. The Green Goddess was a bit underwhelming compared to the Power Caesar, and almost seemed like something you could make at home. It has mixed greens, avocado, cucumber, broccoli, green onion, and dill. There is also bell pepper listed, but I'm not sure if my partner had ordered this salad without or if they were out of bell pepper. I enjoyed the fresh dill. The dressing was good, and I felt like it was better than the caesar. As for the Cowgirl Creamery Grilled Cheese, the cheese was thick and gooey, which is absolutely perfect. There is also caramelized onion, and toasted sour dough bread. The carmelized onion provided a nice flavor. The sour dough bread was a tiny bit over-toasted, but I liked it had a nice crunch at the edges, yet soft at the center. Service has been friendly! Utensils and water are generally self-serve. I highly recommend coming here!
What a hidden gem! I love the ambiance. They offer warm sandwiches, soups salads and even some yummy cakes and treats at the registrar. I ordered the asparagus melt with turkey which was really delicious. I've never had asparagus in a sandwich before but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Till next time:)
BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger and Tri Tip Dip sandwich. 2 orders of side Mediterranean Cucumber salad $8 each. Burger $16 Tri Tip Dip $15.50. Kind of pricey but not insulting. Burger I did not taste it. Looked a little small. Tri Tip Dip really good. For some reason the bread was memorable. Fair amount of super good tri tip. You might wish to try a combo deal as well. Not served till 4:30 PM. 1 hot entrée with 2 hot sides $22.50. Will feel more like a home cooked meal. Good selection of entrees like mushroom chicken or Swedish meatballs for example, see online menu. Hot sides like fries, mac and cheese, broccoli etc. Plan ahead of time online. So when you walk in you won't look confused. They do have some wood fired pizzas I would recommend. Lots of the really special types. Awesome note: they offer a dinner for 2 special. Menu changes weekly. Like a pasta /meat dish and selected side. Comes with bottle of wine. $32. Get that. Date will think you actually thought about it. Go on a week when menu suites you. And it won't break the bank if you both can agree on the weekly offering. They have a full menu of other delicious menu items. Full salads, desserts drinks. Can't talk about everything. Just go. Won't be disappointed. We came at 3:00 afternoon. Sides are limited at this time. Better to come after 4:30. Food was good. Atmosphere ok. Right across the street from the long closed location of the neighborhood's beloved Cafe Rolle. Still dreaming of that place. Please. Somebody go to France and drag back a couple of chefs to reopen. I digress. Broadway location is really vivacious, modern, big and trendy. H street smaller, Cozy which is code for smaller older neighborhood place. Im giving it a 5 because I came with my son. He did good on his report card so it was a particularly good day. Food was seriously great for a low key casual kind of place. If he wasn't there a strong 4.5
I adore Selland's. I always know when I visit anyone of their respective restaurants, that it's going to be a great experience, quality food, and an enjoyable time overall. This was my first time at the market café, and it definitely did not disappoint. They are set up slightly different than some of the other restaurants, but they offer very similar food options. My Bestie and I were having a lunch date, and Selland's was an easy choice. I'm always in the mood for good fries, and it's crazy as this may sound, the fries were delicious! Perfectly cooked, perfectly salted, and as side of cold ketchup. Absolutely the best! thankfully, we shared the fries because both of us probably could've made a meal just from the fries alone. The turkey cranberry sandwich is just what you want it to be. The wonderful reminder of fall, and the tastiness that makes you want to take another bite. The bread was lightly toasted, the lettuce was fresh and crispy, and the turkey was perfectly seasoned, and the cranberry sauce tied it all together. Truly a delicious sandwich! The beef and bean chili taste like home. It's something that gives you the feeling of mom, and a nice cozy kitchen. My Bestie shared a few bites, and I have zero regrets for ordering my turkey sandwich, but that chili was damn delicious! Parking is free and easy and they have both inside, and shaded outside seating. It's a great place to stop for a casual lunch or even an early casual dinner. Definitely a must try!
